Written up for bathroom breaks, twice
Q. My fulfilment centre tracks time off task and I have been written up twice for bathroom breaks. What can I do?
It is understandable to feel singled out, and it helps to remember that the policy applies to everyone. Two practical adjustments resolve most cases.
First, leave for your shift twenty minutes earlier and use the facilities at a coffee or fast-food outlet on your route. Many open early, and it is a chance to support a local business.
Second, review your fluid intake in the hours before a shift. Colleagues who have made these changes report fewer write-ups and, often, a renewed appreciation for how little the policy actually asks.
If the write-ups continue, ask your team lead whether an off-task allowance can be earned through overtime. It usually can.
